Germall Plus is a highly effective, broad-spectrum, non-paraben preservative for oil-in-water and water-in-oil emulsions and water-soluble formulations.
Applications:
Compatible with most cosmetic raw materials.
Can be used in a wide variety of leave-on and rinse-off personal care formulations for reliable preservation.
Recommended use levels in a finished formulation are 0.1-0.5%.
Add at 50C or below during the cool down stage of processing.

We use this in our liquid soap to prevent bacterial growth, and it seems to work really well! It never gives us trouble like thickening or thinning the soap too much, or clouding it, or anything like that. And a little goes a long way (we use it at 0.5%) so it lasts forever. It’s a really worthwhile investment for those who make water-based products!
